Job Summary

The Revenue Cycle Trainer is responsible for the development and administration of training programs related to the electronic medical record integrated with billing and revenue cycle management operations. Leads and participates in actual training sessions and training specific to practice policies and procedures regarding all front-end clinic/department functions to include: scheduling, registration, insurance eligibility and benefit verification, point of service collections, cash management and charge entry tasks along with training for all functions related to billing operations.

Essential Functions:

Under the general direction of the Director of Patient Access, or designated supervisor, the Revenue Cycle Trainer is responsible for overseeing the establishment of written policies and procedures for all education and training, orientation, competency and quality functions for Revenue Cycle services in order to ensure efficient registration, financial clearance, point of service collections, insurance verification, guarantor assignment as well as billing, third-party follow-up and claim resolution.
Monitors current systems to ensure the Revenue Cycle caregivers are utilizing systems to their maximum potential. Performs quality reviews as required and upon implementation of automation changes within Revenue Cycle and communicates deficiencies. Randomly audits Revenue Cycle caregivers to ensure individual is utilizing systems and follow-up procedures accurately.
Identifies and coordinates various projects related to Revenue Cycle in conjunction with the Revenue Cycle Leadership team as well as other supporting departments relative to various applications that will enhance or modify the Revenue Cycle operations.
Develops and administers revenue cycle training and education programs as well as ongoing professional development opportunities such as internal certification, career ladders, etc.
Determines department training and orientation needs, provide recommendations to Revenue Cycle leadership regarding the development of new and/or modified registration, billing, follow up and collection systems, and customer service processes.
Develops and maintains collaborative website and specific training materials associated with training programs.
Maintain current knowledge of all regulations and standards to assure compliance with directives issued by governmental/regulatory agencies or third party payers. Maintains appropriate level of knowledge of revenue cycle process as well as the electronic medical record by vendor training and third party education (e.g. payers, seminars, etc.). Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations with area of expertise.

Additional Requirements


Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies

Experience - 1+ year health care finance experience


Education - Bachelors Degree

Experience - Education and training experience

Certification: Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
